Volunteer Opportunity: Various Dates, Great Pumpkin Program, Rotary Botanical Garden

Bev Feltz, one of the dynamo-volunteers working with the youth education program at Rotary Botanical Gardens, shared this e-mail tonight (see below).   If you are looking for a volunteer experience working with youth and being part of a well organized, efficient and fun group of people, then this might be the thing for you:

Hello To All Our Volunteers,

Today was the opening for the Great Pumpkin Program. We had 3 schools totaling 120 students today. We had beautiful weather, plenty of chaperones and lots of laughter and learning.

I want to thank all the volunteers who presented the inaguaral programs. You were wonderful. I can't say enough thank you's to the "Shadow Crew" who truly did make this day go so smoothly. Thank you for pitching in. I know the kids appreciated as did the rest of us.

I can't wait to get the survey's back. You all worked together fantastically like you had been doing it for years. Great JOB!!!!!!!

Now moving on to future shows.

We are in need of "Shadow Crew Members" for the next couple of shows. We have some large groups coming in and the "Shadow Crew" helps setup the tables for the pumkpin math portion and then helps the Students measure their pumpkins as needed. You do not have to present any material we just need your helping hands.

If this sounds like something you could handle for an hour or 2 we sure would appreciate it.

If you haven't already signed up for a program and you are available on the following days we would love your assistance. I promise you don't have to talk if you don't want to. lol

Tues Oct 12 9-11 am
Tues Oct 19 12-2:p
Thurday Oct 21 9-11am  and 12:30 -2:30
Tuesday Oct 26 9-11am and 12-2pm

We still need people for the Road Show on Nov 9th. It will be in the morning but I'm still working on the time. It is at St. Andrews in Delevan.

Again on Behalf of the Rotary Botanical Gardens' Education Committee Thank You for sharing your time with the children.
