"Herb of the year" presentation, spicy, fun

As has been the case in recent years the Janesville Herb Society's Thursday night presentation, "Horseradish: Herb of the Year" was fun, beautifully presented, informative and delicious.

The last of this year's Thursday Evening at Rotary Botanical Gardens series of lectures, the all too brief presentation explained the history of horseradish. Guests were seated at tables dressed with embroidered table clothes and set with beautiful cups and saucers, served piping hot tea, and told of the wonders of the Herb of the Year. Organization members provided recipes, hints on preparation techniques, and offered delicious samples of horseradish recipes that ranged from jellies, dips, spreads, shrimp cocktail, ham rolls, and piquant deviled eggs, to a pungent tonic called "fire water".

Kudoes to this wonderful organization for their outstanding presentation. May there be many more in future.
