The third installment of the popular RBG lecture series will occur next Wednesday evening, March 7th, from 6:30 pm until 8 pm at the Parker Education Center. Jeff Miller of Land of the Giants Hosta Farm (www.landofthegiantshostafarm.com/) will be speaking on the topic of hostas in his presentation entitled Hostalicious. Jeff is very knowledgable on this subject and his nursery (Milton, WI) currently is growing 220,000 hostas representing over 2,100 varieties. This lecture is $5 for RBG Friends Members and $10 for all others. If you don't have a RBG membership yet, you can certainly pick one up that night (lots of benefits!). The hosta varieties included in this posting include 'First Frost' above, 'Remember Me' to the left, 'White Dove' to the right and 'Liberty' at the bottom. Note all the cottonwood seeds on that bottom hosta!
Keep in mind that our spring symposium, Create An Engaging Garden, on March 24th is almost full. Check out our website for details if you are interested. There will also be a Market Mingle event at the gardens the night prior (March 23rd) which is open to the public and will showcase local vendors (food, crafts, etc.). Check out www.rotarybotanicalgardens.org for more information on all the fun stuff coming up soon.
