Kitchen scraps, paper, cardboard, lawn clippings, old plants.
Walworth County MGV Linda Holmes gives a great demonstration of how you can take these “waste” products, blend them in the right proportions, add water, and end up with a rich, beneficial soil amendment with a minimum of fuss.
She’ll demonstrate a simple two-bin system that works well for her. She’ll also talk about some other techniques for making compost, show you what the finished product looks like, talk about how to use compost in the garden, and help you troubleshoot compost problems. Bring your questions and experiences and let’s learn from each other.
Date: Thursday, April 2
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Place: Rotary Gardens Horticulture Building
Note: Attendance at this session earns you 1 continuing education unit per hour (1 CEU).
