JANUARY EVENT - Winter Sowing with Joanne Franzene

Because December is usually so very busy for all our members there won't be a meeting this month.

Enjoy Your Holidays!

On January 10 we will present Winter Sowing with Joanne Franzene - a local gardener who has presented on the topic before and has found it to be a quick and easy way to use recycled materials to start seeds during winter weather.

This will be a hands-on event, using recycled plastic containers to create small mini-greenhouses that will use winter weather conditions to control when seeds germinate.  It is a very easy way to start seeds that require cold treatment, as many native plants do.

We will have seeds and soil available for you.  You can, of course, bring your own seeds if you prefer.  Save up a few clean one gallon jugs - clear is best, opaque will work as well - and bring them with you. We'll have permanent markers and cutting tools for you to use.

Watch for more details on when and where in our January Newsletter.
