Mary Kay described the Horseradish lecture quite well in her blog previous to this one. I'm so glad I attended as well. The Janesville Area Herb Society did an OUTSTANDING job of not only presenting the topic but also demonstrated the production (grinding) of horseradish and talked about a wide range of uses (most of which were new to me). They spent a lot of time preparing for this event. Lois and Elsa, in particular, did a nice job with the presentation with many others assisting and giving additional information and insights. This was not a "theater style lecture" (see photos) as there were table set-up with table cloths, china, etc. The sampling portion of this event was top notch and everyone (35 attendees!) had a better appreciation for the flavor (and potential) for horseradish. Well done Janesville Area Herb Society! I will say that my stomach lining did not respond well to Lois' "fire water" but it was fun to try!
