Thursday, September 12 we will visit one of the Midwest's most popular native plant suppliers - Agrecol Native Seed & Plant Nursery.
Founded in 1991, Agrecol produces high quality native seed and plants and offers specialty erosion control systems. Natives are grown from remnant foundation collections gathered primarily in southeastern Wisconsin. The seed is certified by the Wisconsin Crop Improvement Association for purity, origin and germination

Agrecol has more than 200 native local ecotype species available to create diverse plant communities and to meet conservation, biodiversity and education goals. The nursery consists of mono-cultures of each species in row crops or solid seeded stands.
Agrecol has a number of processing and growing farms and gardens. We will be visiting the greenhouse at 7900 W Caledonia Road, Edgerton. Following our tour assistant greenhouse manager Avery Johnson will have plants available for purchase for anyone interested in buying.
We will carpool from the Extension office at the Rock County Extension office at 3506 N. Highway 51, Building A, Janesville. Meet at the office at 9:15 a.m. Our tour will begin at 10 a.m.
This is an approved continuing education event. Master Gardener Volunteers and interns will receive one (1) Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for each hour of participation.

Directions from Janesville: Take Highway 14 out of Janesville towards Evansville. About 6 miles down 14 from the intersection of Highways 51 and 14, take a right onto Fox Road. Follow Fox Road until it ends at County Road M. Take a left onto County Road M. Take the first right off of County Road M onto Raymond Road - you’ll pass by Yahara school. The greenhouse is at the end of Raymond Road on top of the hill. The address is 7900 W. Caledonia Rd., Edgerton.
