The Rotary Botanical Gardens' Eighteenth Annual Home Garden Tour will be held on Saturday, July 21st from 10 am until 4 pm (rain or shine). There will be seven wonderful home gardens featured this year with the eighth garden being Rotary Botanical Gardens. It is interesting to note that five of the home gardens are located in the Milton, WI area including the home garden of Jeff and Penny Miller which also includes the Land of the Giants Hosta Farm (seen above). Tickets for this event ($10 in advance, children 12 and under free) are already on sale at K&W Greenery (Janesville), Patty's Plants (Milton) and at the gardens. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the event ($12) at any of these venues or at any of the seven home gardens.
We are still in need of Master Gardener docents at a couple of the homes. Docents help answer questions, keep visitors moving along and assist the homeowners as needed. Volunteers for this event can select a morning or afternoon shift and may attend the event free during their "off" portion of the day. All volunteers are also invited to an "after event" party at the home of Jean Sedor (details to follow). Please call Lori Ebneter at (608) 752-3885 (extension 20) if you have an interest in participating in this RBG fundraiser. We have an orientation potluck for the homeowners and MGVs on July 11th (6 pm) that will cover many of the details. Feel free to contact me as well via email or at (608) 754-1779.
