Don't forget to count educational hours for Soil Sisters

On Sunday, August 7 the Soil Sisters CSA tour taught those who attended how to prepare and combine home grown meats, vegetables, fruits, hand-made soaps, cheeses and wines from soil to harvest to sale.  The event was unique in that every farm was owned or operated solely or in partnership by women.

The event, held in Green county, gave attendees more than just samples of fresh cheese and sips of delicious wines, it gave them insight into the secrets behind raising crops and livestock and creating and selling good CSAs.

If you are a Master Gardener Volunteer don't forget to count your educational hours to report on October 1.  Each hour of participation is 1 continuing education unit (CEU).

Below are members of our party.  From left MGVs Mary Louise Johnson, Mary Kay Thompson, Bob Drew, Deb Grams, Ruth Flescher, guests Jane and Gary, Bev Drew and guest Larry Flescher.
