The Rock Prairie Master Gardener Association, located in Rock County, Wisconsin, is the 42nd association of the Wisconsin Master Gardener Program.

This blog is used to distribute timely information to association members regarding volunteer opportunities, MGV highlights, and other social tid bits.

Horticulture related information is to be directed to the Horticulture Educator or the Plant Health Advisors.

This blog is not for garden related questions.

RPMGA - Continuing Ed Opportunity, Feb 6


On Thursday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 pm RPMGA will meet in the conference room at Premiere Bank for a Level 2 educational opportunity. There are currently six for-credit educational videos available on the UW-Madison, Division of Extension "Plants Plus" web page. We have not chosen which we will view - that will be at the discretion of those who attend the meeting.

The videos are:
  1. Greener Gardens - A remix of new and past training presentations, printed materials and otherreferences focused on specific plants or topics to help you increase your knowledge so you can better answer homeowner questions. To get 2 hours of continuing education credit for watching the video presentation and reading the article, just complete the short quiz. This Plants Plus package focuses on lower input and greener gardens. (For more information click here.)  
  2. Fragrance in the Garden - A remix of new and past training presentations, printed materials and other references focused on specific plants or topics to help you increase your knowledge so you can better answer homeowner questions. To get 2 hours of continuing education credit for watching the video presentation and reading the article, just complete the short quiz! This Plants Plus package focuses on fragrance in the garden.   3. Pollinators - A remix of past training presentations, printed materials and other references focused on specific plants or topics to help you increase your knowledge so you can better answer homeowner questions. To get 2 hours of continuing education credit for watching the video presentation and reading the articles, just complete the short quiz! This Plants Plus package focuses on pollinators.   4. Cover Crops for the Garden - A remix of past training presentations, printed materials and other references focused on specific plants or topics to help you increase your knowledge so you can better answer homeowner questions. To get 2 hours of continuing education credit for watching the video presentation and reading the articles, just complete the short quiz! This Plants Plus package focuses on cover crops for the garden. (For more information click here.)
  5. Vine Crops - A remix of past training presentations, printed materials and other references focused on specific plants or topics to help you increase your knowledge so you can better answer homeowner questions. To get 2 hours of continuing education credit for watching the video presentation and reading the article, just complete the short quiz! Premier Bank is located behind McDonald's at 1400 Blackbridge Road, Janesville.  The evening will begin at 5:30 pm.

Each of the videos above is an approved MGV continuing education program. If you complete the video, the reading and the quiz each presentation is worth 2 Continuing Education units (CEUs).
