There
are lots of different kinds of things that need doing. If
you can hammer nails, help lift a load, run a drill, or read a level, boy could
we use you! If you can use a utility knife, squeeze a caulking gun or help keep
things organized, we could really use your help. And your friends. And their
friends. We’re starting at 9 a.m. Our goal is to get the walls up and the roof
on, so we’ll probably be at it most of the day. Can’t stay all day? Come for a
couple hours. Can’t make it early? Come later! We’ll be thrilled to have you
for whatever you can contribute.
We’ll have a basic supply of tools on hand, so please
come even if you don’t have any. But if you do have some, it would speed the
process along if you could bring any of the following (please mark as yours
somehow): a hammer, work gloves, safety glasses, sharpened pencils, and a
fully-charged cordless drill/driver with a #2 Phillips bit. Less critical but
still useful: a utility knife, a tape measure, a 6’ or 8’ step ladder, kneeling
pads, a chalk line, a carpenter’s square, a level.
Date/Time: Friday, October 4,
9:00 a.m. till we’re done… or too tired to keep going!
Location: Community
Gardens/County Farm just east of the intersection of Hwy 14 and Hwy 51. Turn in at the Sheriff’s Department, veer
left toward the gardens, then turn right to get to the work location.
Note: We’ll need help
painting and moving things in as well, so if you can’t come on the 4th,
you can still help. Watch your email for additional notices.
